ECOC 2024

ECOC 2024

50th European Conference on Optical Communication

September 22-26, 2024 | Frankfurt, Germany

The European Conference on Optical Communication (ECOC) is Europe’s leading and one of the world’s largest and most prestigious events in the field of optical communication. The conference brings together experts from science, research and industry to discuss the latest findings and future trends. Ideal for deepening knowledge, discussing new ideas and networking, ECOC covers everything from the materials to the networks that use optical communications. The associated exhibition, the largest of its kind in Europe, has served as an important focal point for industry decision-makers for almost 30 years. In 2024, the 50th anniversary of ECOC will be celebrated with special events in Frankfurt, Germany.

We from PolyPhotonics Berlin e.V. are also taking part again this year. Our platforms are based on the hybrid integration of active and passive optical components in photonic integrated circuits (PICs) from the visible to the infrared wavelength range. With the micro-optical bench, spectral filters, optical isolators and circulators as well as non-linear crystals can be integrated into the PICs for applications in the field of quantum optics and the SiN platform provides optical grating couplers, switches and ring resonators for components in communications engineering, sensor technology or medical technology.

You will find us at the Berlin Brandenburg Pavilion booth C57,C60.

Partner Update: MRT Webinar Serie – Meet the Experts
Next Session: Innovative Chemical Solutions for Microfabrication and Wafer Level Packaging

Since 2021, Micro Resist Technology (MRT) has been conducting a monthly online seminar series titled “MRT Webinar – Meet the Experts,” aimed at showcasing the innovative photopolymers and related materials developed by MRT and its partners. Encouraged by the continuous positive feedback from the community, they have decided to extend these webinars indefinitely to support their partner’s and customers’ endeavors on a monthly basis. To facilitate this, they are consistently organizing future topics and inviting expert contributions.

Throughout the webinar series, they delve into the advancements in commercial material solutions catering to both scientific endeavors utilizing emerging nanofabrication techniques and high-level industrial production processes. Additionally, they occasionally collaborate with technology partners and academic institutions to emphasize the synergy driving advanced process developments.

Each webinar, lasting one hour, features an expert presentation followed by a moderated Q&A session with the repsective specialists. While primarily targeted towards MRT’s customers and partners, the invitation is also extended to professionals from the industry and academia.

Our partner micro resist technology is pleased to host the upcoming webinar in partnership with Kayaku Advanced Materials Inc. (KAM), a US-based company. The webinar will feature Aurelie, a Senior Technical Sales Representative, who will deliver an extensive overview of KAM’s specialized permanent and temporary resists. Aurelie will also highlight the newest product offerings specifically designed for advanced wafer level packaging, MEMS, and microelectronic fabrication.

Date: 13 March 2024, 13:30 – 14:30 CET
Expert: Aurelie Mayeux, Kayaku Advanced Materials Inc.

From the Spree to the world – visiting the “Hidden Champions” on the “Made in Berlin” tour

On Monday, January 8, the Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises went on the “Made in Berlin” tour of 2024 and visited production facilities of new leading companies in Berlin under the motto “Hidden Champions”. This year, companies with an “entrepreneurial spirit and innovative spirit” that have already made a name for themselves internationally were selected. During the “Made in Berlin” tour, the companies introduced themselves and gave tours of their production and manufacturing facilities.
